On this page
Supahelp has several AI features. They serve different purposes and share your workspace's AI credits.
Choose the right feature
Feature | Where you use it | What it does | Credits |
Ask Supa for customers | Public help center search | Answers from published help articles, with sources | 10 per answered question |
Supa for your team | Supa AI, or Ask Supa on a request | Finds workspace information and proposes changes for your approval | 10 per completed response |
AI summary | AI summary on a request | Condenses the request into an overview | 11 per generation or regeneration |
Related requests | Related requests on a request | Finds previous answers and requests about a similar issue | 3 per successful search |
Coding agent connection through MCP | Your external coding agent | Reads articles, edits existing drafts, and can publish with permission | No Supahelp AI credits for MCP tool calls |
Your external coding agent may charge separately for its own AI usage.
Configure Supa
Owners and admins use Settings → AI Configuration to manage two separate switches:
Supa for your customer → Enable Ask Supa controls customer answers on your public help center.
Supa for your team → Enable Supa for your team controls the assistant inside your workspace.
Turning on one does not turn on the other. Feature availability also depends on Supahelp's rollout; a disabled switch or missing entry may mean the feature is not available for your workspace yet.
Coding agent connections is a separate section on the same settings page. Owners, admins, and editors can create connections. It does not require either Supa switch.
What AI can see
Customer Ask Supa uses published help articles. It cannot read private drafts, requests, customer emails, or internal comments.
Team Supa can retrieve support information inside your workspace. Changes require approval and your normal permissions still apply.
An MCP connection can read private Knowledge Base drafts, including Page storage, if you give it Read permission. The current MCP tools cover Knowledge Base articles, not requests or contacts.
Before relying on an answer
Check the sources and original request. AI can miss details or give an incorrect answer. Publish clear, up-to-date articles to improve customer answers.
