Changes you make in the Knowledge Base Editor are saved as drafts. Publishing makes them live for customers. This article explains what happens when you publish.
Drafts and published versions
Draft: your saved but unpublished changes. Only your team sees them in the editor.
Published version: what customers see on your help center.
Every time you publish, Supahelp creates a new public version of your help center from your draft. Customers see the changes immediately.
Publish your changes
In the Knowledge Base Editor, select Publish changes.
Review the summary in Publish these changes?
Select Publish to confirm.
When you see Published successfully, your changes are live.
The publish summary
The summary lists everything going live, grouped as:
New pages
Changed pages
Navigation and group changes
Branding and styling changes
Typography changes
If the only changes are drafts in Page storage, the summary tells you nothing customers see will change.
What's included
Change | Included when you publish? |
Pages in the navigation tree | Yes |
Navigation order, folders, and topics | Yes |
Branding, homepage, and site settings | Yes |
Pages in Page storage | Saved, but never public |
Request form questions | No. Publish them in the Request form Editor. |
Before you publish
Make sure every main card on your home page has a valid destination.
Fix any fields highlighted in the editor.
If someone else changed the draft in another session, reload the editor first.
If publishing fails
If you see Publishing failed. The public help center was not changed., your customers still see the previous version. Your draft is kept. Try again. If it keeps failing, reload the editor and publish again.
After publishing
Reload the editor before making more changes so you're working from the latest version.
